An innovation I'm grateful for is- the Amplatzer Piccolo procedure: a minimally invasive device used to close a Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). My sister was born prematurely at 24 weeks gestation. The piccolo closed the hole in her heart, removed the murmur, and has transformed her life and mine!
